The State of Michigan's Civil Rights Department offers a Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver to members of any federally recognized tribal member who meets the 1/4 blood quantum requirement.
Members of the Sault Tribe must have their blood quantum verified by the Sault Tribe Enrollment office for a fee of $15.00.

This program is not a Sault Tribe specific program. The MITW is offered by the State of Michigan for any member of a federally recognized tribal member who has a ¼ blood quantum and will be attending a Michigan PUBLIC college or university. It also requires you to be a resident of the State of Michigan for not less than 12 consecutive months.
Students must complete the top half of the application and then mail it along with the $15.00 processing fee to the Sault Tribe Enrollment Department so that they may complete the bottom portion of the form. They will mail the completed form onto the State of Michigan for further processing.

AIGC is national private 501(c)(3) non-profit headquartered in Albuquerque, New Mexico providing fellowships to American Indian and Alaska Native graduate students throughout the United States. The U.S. Department of Education has a Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program that forgives the remaining balance on your Direct Loans after you have made 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan while working full-time for a qualifying employer.
LOAN ELIGIBILITY
Only Direct Loan Program loans that are not in default are eligible for PSLF. Loans you received under the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program, the Federal Perkins Loan (Perkins Loan) Program, or any other student loan program are not eligible for PSLF.EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY
To qualify for PSLF, you must be an employee of a qualifying employer. An employee is someone who is hired and paid by the employer. You may physically perform your work at a qualifying or non-qualifying organization, as long as you are an employee of a qualifying employer.
A qualifying organization is a government organization, a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a private not-for-profit organization that provides certain public services.
